Greek Rice 

The perfect summer side


Traditional Greek-style rice is that delicious all-colored rice, which is usually served on a platter and once you have had your first bite, it's impossible to stop eating. It is a simple recipe where you don´t need to be supper expert and if you fancy to do something simpler and cozier. So, the tip I give for you to have a delicious whole meal, is to serve the Greek rice as a side dish of a roasted chicken or turkey, a salad well done, and a pudding for dessert.

Ingredients:

1 thread of oil or olive oil

1/2 onion, chopped

2 chopped garlic cloves

1 medium carrot chopped

1/2 cup chopped red bell peppers

1/2 cup of chopped yellow pepper

1/2 cup raisins

1 can of green corn

1 can of pea

2 cups of rice

1/2 tablespoon salt

4 cups of water

3 tablespoons of chopped parsley

Preparation mode:

1.     Heat a pan over medium heat and add a dash of oil or olive oil. Then add the chopped onion and stir until it becomes transparent.

2.     Add the chopped garlic and sauté until golden brown.

3.     Add the chopped carrot, the red pepper, the yellow pepper and the raisins. Stir everything very well and sauté lightly.

4.     Then add the green corn (without water), the pea (without water) and the rice. Stir for about 3 minutes to lightly sauté and after that add the salt and water.

5.     Cover the pan and cook for about 20 minutes over medium heat or until the water is completely dry.

6.     Turn off the heat and finish by adding the chopped green smell.

7.      Mix and transfer to a nice dish.

8.     Enjoy it.
