Boris Johnson announced a 27-day national lockdown for England last night amid fears that the NHS is on the brink of collapse.
He said if the parliament approves the measures on Wednesday, they will be introduced just after midnight on Thursday and will remain until at least December 2.
When can I leave home?
There are several scenarios where you can do this. You can go out to buy essential food and - and do exercises.
People can also leave home for any medical reason, such as a coronavirus test or a hospital appointment.
You can also leave home to travel, study or work, but only if you cannot work from home.
People can also leave home to look after vulnerable people or as volunteers. You are also allowed to leave to escape injury or damage,
