UK System failure

Many positive cases for Covid were not included


A technical failure that meant almost 16,000 cases of Covid-19 were not reported was considered "chaotic" after it was revealed that it led to delays in tracking contacts of people with coronavirus. The number of Covid cases in the UK rose to 22,961 on Sunday after it was revealed that thousands of cases were not included in daily reports due to some data files reporting positive test results exceeding the maximum file size. The proposals detail a new system of restrictions will be a traffic light-like system with the highest alert level 3, including pub closures, house mixing bans and overnight restrictions. Boris Johnson said the next few days would be "crucial" to see whether additional restrictions for some parts of the country - including local blockades - are "reducing the virus.
