Plan to rewrite Brexit agreement is unfair

Geoffrey Cox, who was a prosecutor during the illegal suspension of parliament, confirmed that he would vote against an attempt by Boris Johnson to annul the Brexit agreement. He said it was "unfair" for the UK to try to break an international law by rewriting the withdrawal agreement with the European Union. He said that if the bill's powers were used to "nullify those perfectly clear and predictable consequences," it would amount to the "unilateral withdrawal of treaty obligations" signed in October. Cox called on ministers to use the "clear and legal" options of the agreement to address his concerns that food imports could be blocked from Britain to Northern Ireland.
