Back to school in September: the new measures

For most children in England and Wales, September will be the first time they set foot in a classroom in nearly six months. However, the schools will not be the same as they left them. From thermometer checks to classrooms in tents for parties, all aspects of the school day have been changed to keep children, teachers and their families safe.
Contrary to what he had established, Boris Johnson will make masks mandatory for all high school children in areas with high levels of coronavirus amid a reaction by conservative parliamentarians to another policy reversal.
Students over 11 will have to wear face covers as they travel through schools when they reopen next week, was announced last night, a day after Downing Street said students would be safe without them.
