After official nomination, Trump accuses democrats of fraud
Officially nominated as the Republicans' candidate on Monday (24), US President Donald Trump accused the Democrats of wanting to "steal" the elections. Although his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, is the favorite in the polls, Trump was confident of reelection on Nov. 3.
To stir up his electoral base, he appeared by surprise at the Republican convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, shortly after delegates confirmed him as a candidate, and raised the accusation, which he has held for weeks, that the postal vote could open up space for fraud.
"They're going to use COVID to steal the election," he said. "The only way they will deprive us of victory is through a fraudulent election," he told party delegates.
