12 MPs argue that bottled water follows the same logic the EU has used to reject shellfish, mussels, scallops and lobsters.

Boris Johnson urged to ban EU drinking water in UK - 'EU must take full responsibility'

A group of Conservative Brexiteers have written to Lord Frost to urge him to ban imports of bottled water from the EU, in retaliation for the bloc's ban on unprocessed seafood from the UK

The UK currently imports an estimated £17 billion worth of bottled water each year. In response, Express.co.uk asked its readers whether they thought the prime minister should ban bottled water from the EU.

The poll, conducted from 9am to 9pm on March 1, asked, "Should Boris Johnson ban EU drinking water in the UK?"

Of the 7,778 respondents, 96 per cent (7,464 people) voted "yes".
