Critics said the lack of segregation could undermine the new policy which was first introduced today to prevent mutant strains of coronavirus being imported into the UK.
Travellers will have to pre-book and pay £1,750 to spend 10 days quarantined in government-authorised hotels. The fee covers the cost of the hotel, transport and two tests.
