A total of 15 streets have received £ 255 million to make urban centres prosper and more attractive to live and work in, while 57 other areas will receive provisional funding worth £ 576 million.

The fund, initially announced by then Chancellor Philip Hammond in the 2018 budget, aims to help local authorities modernise and revitalise their urban centres and was conceived long before the Covid-19 crisis wreaked havoc on the economy.
