The amendment of the law, passed by voters in parallel with the presidential election, brings the state's drug laws in line with the most tolerant countries in the world, including the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal and the Czech Republic.
With Measure 110, Oregon residents arrested with small amounts of drugs will avoid trial and prison time. Instead, possession will be treated as a fine for excess of 100 dollars
