Manhattan: a long fall

Two window cleaners survived a fall on the side Two cleaners fall from one of Manhattan's tallest skyscrapers

The duo's probe malfunctioned and sank 13 floors before throwing them out and falling another 20 feet onto a flat roof on the 35th floor.

The duo was cleaning a 101-story glass tower that has the highest outdoor observation deck in New York, a triangular terrace that projects like a duck's beak.

Its equipment hung from a crane on the tower roof, part of a new office block and apartment buildings built above the Hudson Yards railway station. The cleaners were working on the 50th floor when the platform began to fall.
