Everything indicated that the home-office was not a good business: professional life being confused with personal life was already a good argument

Bank Researchers :

Work at home does not increase productivity, says Jonathan Haskel

Bank of England researchers found that remote full-time workers stayed longer at their desks than those in an office

Remote work is taking longer hours and may result in the transfer of jobs abroad, a member of the Bank of England's rate-setting committee said.

Jonathan Haskel, an external member of the Bank's monetary policy committee, told The Times that the move to domestic work is unlikely to last, as most companies did not consider it productive.

Professor Haskel, an economist at Imperial College Business School in London, said he did not believe that remote work could increase productivity, which is key to unlocking wage growth and higher living standards. Companies can experience higher levels of production when employees work from home, but he said the Bank found "reliable evidence that people are working longer hours".
