Deadline for Manchester to comply with restrictions
"We are trying to respond to a pandemic cheaply, that is how we feel," said the mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham
The British government gave the city of Manchester a deadline on Tuesday at noon to agree to tighter measures against the coronavirus, while Prime Minister Boris Johnson fights to impose his plan for restrictions located in restless regions.
So far, only the regions of Liverpool and Lancashire in north-west England have been placed at Level 3, the highest level. Near Greater Manchester, with a population of almost 3 million, he expects more support for workers and companies affected by the restrictions.
