The Oxford vaccine : The research was even suspended in September for a few days in the UK after a side effect was found in one participant.

Oxford's vaccine against covid-19 generates good response in older people

The conclusions should be published in a scientific journal soon

The Financial Times said that a ¨robust¨ immune response was verified in the elderly, but the results of the analysis of data from this age group have not yet been officially released.

The Oxford vaccine generates among the elderly antibodies and so-called T-cells, whose main purpose is to identify and kill invading organisms or infected cells.

The study published in July also showed that the vaccine is safe and has not caused any serious side effects.

However, there were mild adverse effects: 66% of the volunteers who received the vaccine had pain at the injection site, 70% reported fatigue, 68% had headache and 17% had fever.

The positive results of the first two steps led to the continuation of the survey. In phase 3, it is now verified whether the vaccine really works, with a much larger number of volunteers participating.

10,500 people are being recruited in the United Kingdom, 30,000 participants in the United States and 2,000 in South Africa. In Brazil, 8,000 are already participating in the study.
