UE´s letter of infringement procedure invites the UK government to send its observations within one month 



Despite the legal action, Downing Street said that trade negotiations with the European Union are being conducted in a "constructive spirit", which sounds a little ironic.
Boris Johnson is due to speak to Brussels tomorrow to "take stock" of negotiations on a post-Brexit free trade agreement and to "discuss the next steps," a spokesman from Downing Street said.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Thursday that she had initiated legal proceedings against the UK after the government refused to withdraw plans to overturn key elements of the Brexit divorce settlement.
Mrs Von der Leyen said a "letter of formal notice" would be sent to the UK after ministers rejected the request to withdraw the provisions of the UK's Internal Market Bill on Wednesday of this week.
