In final debate, Trump lowers the tone, sees hope for Covid and accuses Biden
The opening topic of the debate was entirely predictable - Trump received variations of the same question in interviews and rarely gave a clear answer.
Asked to outline his plan for the future, Trump said his previous treatment was flawless and predicted an optimistic reversal to the pandemic that killed over 220,000 Americans.
"We are turning the corner, we are turning the corner," Trump said, even as cases are rising again across the country.
"It's going away."
Biden, who tried to process Trump's treatment of the virus in his closing address to voters, came prepared.
"Anyone responsible for so many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America," he said.
Biden added: "He says we are, you know, learning to live with it. People are learning to die from it".
Mr. Trump repeatedly made unfounded accusations against Mr. Biden and his son Hunter in an attempt to classify his rival and his family as corrupt.
"I don't make money from China, you do. I don't make money from Ukraine, you do," Trump said.
