What happened? 

Three people died in a knife attack on a church in Nice in southern France in what French President Emmanuel Macron said was an "Islamic terrorist attack". The attack took place on Thursday (29/10) at approximately 9 am local time. 

Who was killed / injured?

Among those killed is a 40 year old Brazilian woman, according to Itamaraty at night: "The Brazilian government informs with great regret that one of the fatal victims was a 40 year old Brazilian woman, mother of three children, living in France. Another victim, a 70-year-old woman, was "practically beheaded"; and a 55-year-old man had his throat slit.

The situation :

Everyone was waiting for the first mass of the day.

The culprit : 

Police sources named the suspect Brahim Aioussaoi, a 21-year-old Tunisian who arrived by boat on the Italian island of Lampedusa in September. He was quarantined for coronavirus before being released and advised to leave Italy. Aioussaoui arrived in France earlier this month.
