EU Exit Chaos: Bureaucratic form, exhaustive evidence list and app only on I-Phone, android 7 or higher
According to provisional Home Office figures as of the end of September, 4,061,900 applications have been received since the scheme opened in March last year.
Over two million of these people (2,172,200) have been granted settled status, allowing them permanent leave to remain.
Over 1.6 million (1,614,600) have received pre-established status, which means that they need to re-enroll after living in the country for five years to obtain permanent residence.
But 16,600 applications were refused, 34,600 were withdrawn or cancelled and 42,400 were considered invalid - when the Home Office decides that someone is not eligible to apply or has not provided proof of sufficient residence.
