Restrictions for London this Monday

Sadiq Khan would have warned Boris Johnson that London needs to have restrictions on coronavirus launched as early as Monday to avoid a large increase in cases.The Mayor of London is in favour of further restrictions, including 10pm curfews in pubs, to prevent the spread of the disease. He is also preparing to ask Londoners to work from home if they can.

Such a move would be in sharp contrast to the government, which until recently urged people to return to their posts after the blockade restrictions were relaxed.

In a statement, Khan said he held an emergency meeting with London council leaders, the government and Public Heath England (PHE) to discuss the next steps. "I believe we should not wait, as was the case six months ago, for this virus to get out of control again before agir¨, he said.
