Biden to challenge Trump
The Democratic Party made official on Tuesday night (18) former Vice President Joe Biden, 77, as the candidate to challenge Donald Trump in the November 3, 2020 election.
The second night of the Democratic convention formalized the party's primary results, in which Biden won 3,459 delegates, against 1,121 from Senator Bernie Sanders.
As the event took place virtually due to the new coronavirus pandemic, delegations expressed their votes from emblematic seats in the state itself. However, as Biden won the primaries with a large advantage, voting at the convention was a mere formality.
Former President Barack Obama, who will speak on Wednesday (19), wrote in the same social network that he is "proud" of his former vice-president.
