Putin's opponent may have been poisoned
The Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was admitted on Thursday (20) in a serious condition, in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a Siberian hospital, after having spent badly in a plane, victim, according to his team, of a "poisoning".
"We believe Alexei was poisoned with something mixed in his tea. It was the only thing he drank in the morning," added the spokeswoman.
"Doctors say the poison was quickly absorbed through the hot liquid."
The opposition leader, a 44-year-old lawyer known for his anti-corruption campaigns against high officials and his open criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has already been the victim of several physical attacks.
In 2017 he suffered chemical burns to an eye when some men threw a green liquid used as a disinfectant on his face.
