Navalny transported to hospital in Germany
Russian opponent Aleksei Navalny left the hospital in the Russian city of Omsk at the local time on Saturday (22) on an intensive care shuttle, which is expected to take him to the airport from where the politician will be transported to Germany.
On Friday (21), Omsk doctors gave the green light to Navalny's transport for treatment to Germany, after he suffered an acute health problem that led to his coma during a Russian domestic flight on Thursday (20).
Navalny's supporters suspect he was poisoned after drinking tea during the flight to Moscow, while the chief physician at the Omsk clinic in western Siberia attributes his condition to a metabolic disorder.
The Cinema for Peace Foundation, based in Berlin, sent a plane with a team of medical professionals to Omsk in an effort to take Navalny to the charity hospital. The jet was already waiting for him on the runway while the politician left the hospital.
