President Trump came closer to admitting defeat, although he continues to claim in a Thanksgiving speech that the election was rigged "at the highest level"
President Trump admitted yesterday for the first time that he will leave the White House if the electoral college formalises Joe Biden's victory, the closest he came to admitting defeat
Biden won the presidential election after getting 306 votes from the electoral college against 232 from Trump, far exceeding the 270 votes needed to secure the election. Biden also won 6 million more votes than Trump and the highest number of votes in a presidential election.
Despite Biden's clear victory, Trump and his team refused to grant the election and repeated allegations of electoral fraud and embarked on a series of nationwide prosecutions in states such as Pennsylvania and Michigan in an attempt to overturn the election
