Understand where the name Covid comes from

COVID stands for COrona VIrus Disease, while "19" refers to 2019, when the first cases in Wuhan, China, were made public by the Chinese government at the end of December. The name is taken from the words "corona", "virus" and "disease", with 2019 representing the year in which it appeared (the outbreak was reported to the WHO on 31 December).
