Why does Schitt's Creek seem so real and likely?
Netflix Series shows that people can learn to truly love each other, free from distractions and the pressures of social upheaval
"Schitt's Creek" tells the story of the Rose family, a rich and emotionally distant clan who loses everything and is forced to move to a poor little town called Schitt's Creek. We follow the Roses as they adapt to their new normal lives, without fame, fancy parties or flashy decoration. They move into a motel, the only place they can afford, and try to find a way back to their old lives. When these attempts fail, they admit that they may need the support of their new neighbours. They slowly learn that life is unsustainable if you isolate yourself from the people around you, be they friends, neighbours or members of your own family.
Despite its slow start, "Schitt's Creek" has proved a great success. During the 2020 Emmy Awards, he swept through all categories in the comedy division, from writing and editing to hairstyles and costumes. Each member of the Rose family took home an acting award, bringing the total of Emmys to nine, the largest number in a single year for a series of comedy in the history of the awards.
