Queen Elizabeth honours the heroes of the pandemic
The winners are chosen by committees of public servants on the basis of nominations from the government and the public
Queen Elizabeth II used her late birthday tributes list to celebrate the selfless work of people - some more famous than others - in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to paying tribute to the work of doctors and nurses, the Queen presented prizes on Friday night for delivery drivers, fundraisers and volunteers.
In total, 1,495 tributes make up this year's list, with social and health workers representing 14%. The list is also the most diverse of all, with 13% of the recipients from an ethnic minority.
